Print Watch 4 3 Crackheads
This year marks the seventh year since I purchased the HP Officejet 8500 printer and I just changed the print heads for the black and yellow colors today. It was easy to remove the old print heads and install the new ones and, after securing the print heads and closing the lid of the printer, it went through its calibrations and printed a couple of test pages and was ready to use within 5 minutes. The printheads are incredible and the pages to a manual that I printed were crips and clean with the perfect color scheme. I had no issues with the print heads and highly recommend them as replacements for what ails any compatible printer. I rarely do product reviews as there are generally so many that it would be irrelevant. In this case, this product deserves five stars. I first tried the product on a Canon i80 portable printer that had not been used for more than a year.
Canon no longer supports the i80, so I could not buy a new printhead. The Printhead Hospital kit cleaned out the printhead on the second try - after I followed directions. Then, I thought I would try to resurrect my Epson R1800 printer that had not been used for a long time.
This time, I followed directions, heating the solution in boiling water and attaching the plastic tube directly to the 'nozzle' on the printhead. This was tougher to clean, and I used a full (small) bottle of fluid, but l finally won. The printhead is clean. I have a printer which had not been used for a good 7 months or more which I had left ink cartridges in which came close to drying up.
Only one color was printing and it was spotty at best. At first I was hesitant to bother trying to clean my printer as I became a bit weary looking at various youtube videos on how to do it. I was concerned that the cleaning would require getting out the screw driver and a huge mess.Needless to say, I am thrilled I found this product and it worked splendidly!
No dis-assembly required for my printer. Instructions were clear, everything needed was provided, and I still have half a bottle of cleaning solution left for a future emergency.Follow the instructions and this should work - provided your printer is just dried out a bit as was mine. I hadn't used my printer in awhile and needed to print some important docs only to discover the black ink wouldn't print AT ALL even though the ink was full. I did all the maintenance cleaning options on the printer to no avail. I thought I was going to have to toss it (mind you my Epson XP-330 is only 2 years old!) when I decided to look up options online as a hail mary. I found this and the process seemed a little complex, but I decided to give it a try. It totally fixed my printer!! And was not complicated at all. Mind you, I did have to repeat the process 2-3 times on separate occasions (see photos for the progress made each time) and then run a final print head cleaning on my printer, but it was so worth it to have my.
First, I really appreciate the people who answered my question about this product. This product comes with the printhead and 4 inks - 3 colors and black. The directions recommend that you replace your ink with these inks for the best results. The directions are super brief which is fine if you don’t run into problems. I easily installed the printhead and inks.Then my printer went into “aligning printer” stuck mode. I couldn’t “X” or cancel it because it said you can’t interrupt maintenance - this after about 4 hours, as I left it to do its thing.
So I opened the ink door and made sure the printhead was secure and it just continued the same message and doing nothing. The power off button also would not work or shut down. So I unplugged the power cord from the back of the printer, waited about a minute and plugged.
